Hello and welcome to the Ladies Section!

My name is Jackie McLaughlin and this coming year I have the honour of being Lady Captain. Together with my Vice Captain - Hilary Marsh, we look forward to welcoming you to Chippenham Golf Club.

In recent years we have extended and improved our 18-hole course, built a new Club House and practice range giving us a course and facilities of which we are very proud. If you are interested in becoming a member we will be happy to take you out to try the course.

Our ladies are friendly, welcoming and are pleased to encourage members at all levels. During the winter we meet on a Wednesday morning and ladies of all abilities can come and play a mixture of fun and competitive golf. This is a good time to meet and make new friends. We meet between 9.30 and 10. If the weather is bad we just meet for coffee and a chat!

During the year there are plenty of opportunities for competitive golf, playing for trophies, friendly matches against other clubs in Wiltshire and the surrounding counties – both Ladies and Mixed, and we have three teams who play in the Wiltshire Scratch league in Division 1, 3 and 4.  In the winter we are running a Fun Winter League. Ladies who enter are drawn in teams and enter as many stableford scores over 11 holes as they can. The five best individual scores of each player counts and the Team with the highest score at the end of the competition is the winner.
The games played twice a year with the Senior men are always popular. We also have competitions for the Ladies to play with Junior members.
We are fortunate to have access to excellent tuition with PGA Professionals Nick Horrocks, Claire Burrows and Justin Hennessey. Each Professional is available to give lessons. Therefore if you are a beginner you’ll get a good start to your golf game; if you already play then you will be able to improve your game or get it back on track!

Throughout the year there are a number of social events for the ladies, including away days, dinners and an annual two night golfing break: this coming year we will be going to The Cotswold which is near Chipping Norton.

I can be contacted on chippenhamgc@gmail.com and would be delighted to hear from you.

Welcome to the Seniors Section page on our website. Firstly, If you are a new member we will be happy to take you out to try the course and introduce you to other members. There is a list of Committee members on the Gents changing room notice board and we are all here to help make Chippenham Golf Club a great place to play. All through the year there are plenty of opportunities for ‘competitive’ golf, playing in the various trophy competitions and friendly matches against other Clubs. Each year we play over 30 Senior friendlies (both home and away) and encourage all section members to join in irrespective of handicap – our philosophy is fun and inclusive, last year well over 50 members contributed to the teams. We also run a number of winter competitions to keep the cobwebs firmly at bay. The list of competitions and opportunities for play is too long to list here; keep an eye on the boards in the changing rooms and the club diary. We have three away days each year to add to the chance of playing new and old favourite courses within easy travelling distance. One event I would particularly ask you to support whether by playing, spotting or raising funds for the Charity is the Chippenham Seniors Open – the biggest event in our calendar. This year my chosen charity is Prostate Cancer UK – any support you can offer will be gratefully received. Dave Thomas 2017 Seniors Section Captain

Hi, my name is Brad Rossiter and I’m the Junior Captain for 2017.

Let me tell you a little about the Chippenham G.C. Junior Section; We have a mixture of abilities consisting of new players and members who regularly take part in competitive golf in club competitions, county competitions and matches.

We also hold Saturday roll-ups in our covered driving range, where many newer players are given coaching from our PGA qualified professional, Claire Burrows. Anyone under 18 is welcome to join in at the cost of only £4 per session. The Junior Roll-Ups have two different groups: Under 11's and for ages 11 to 18. These take place at 1:30pm to 2:30pm for the under 11's and from 2:45 to 3:45 for ages 11 to 18. We are also fortunate to have access to excellent tuition from PGA Professionals Nick Horrocks, and assistant Justin Hennessey.

The Junior section is getting stronger, with 20 junior and 24 cadet members with a mixture of abilities through both sections. Our Junior Organiser, Colin Rossiter works alongside other volunteers to ensure the smooth and safe running of the section.

Throughout the year there are many qualifying competitions which include medals, Stableford, and other competitions where club trophies can be won. Anyone under the age of 18 can play in these competitions as long as they have a handicap. We also have many other competitions with other sections such as the Ladies and Seniors.
During the year we enter into one of the Wiltshire leagues where we will play other teams both home and away. Our league matches are 3v3 singles matches. There is also a knockout within Wiltshire Junior Golf which we enter every year. We also enter another knockout competition which is the national RBL Poppy Appeal Knockout, which in 2016 we got through to last 8 out of the 164 who entered.

Last year was a very successful year for us as we were runners up in the County Junior Team Knock-Out competition. Dan Woodley, and I were also selected to represent Wiltshire at County level.

Cadet Memberships start at £36.00 for the year.  For all enquiries about Cadet & Junior Memberships please call the office on - 01249 652040
